Word of the year… bring it on 2018
Do you ever find yourself in this spot… you see where you want to be, know the steps to get there, yet struggle to actually GET THERE… do you ever feel like that?
I do. I have been feeling that a lot lately.
And I realized… it’s nobody’s fault but my own. And it’s time to fix that.
My WORD for the year… one to focus on, to revert back to, to remind me of where it is I want to be… is DISCIPLINE.
DISCIPLINE as a verb can mean to train oneself to do something in a controlled & habitual way. And that indeed is the biggest thing stopping me from seeing my personal, professional, family & financial dreams become reality.
I have the knowledge. I have the tools. I have the passion. Now it’s time to train those discipline muscles to USE THEM and TAKE ACTION.
And like anytime you are training, I need to remind myself that it is a journey… and that success will come within the integrity of the process… and that process is composed of small daily habits that will compound for good (or bad if you DON’T do them)… and I’ll also need a huge dose of GRIT & GRACE.
“For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline” -2Timothy1:7
And of course, I’m taking my own advice and following some systems & leaning on peer support to help me along the way. But the bottom line… I will pray like it solely depends on God, while being disciplined in my actions as if it were solely dependent on me. Together we got this.
